Designed to suit all hair types, the Dyson Airstrait™ hair dryer allows you to dry, smooth or straighten both wet and dry hair. No hot plates and no heat damage.
Your routine, simplified: save time with Dyson Airstrait™. Straighten as you dry and start styling straight out of the shower, thanks to the "Wet" mode, which allows you to straighten and dry wet hair at the same time, with just one device. Select "Dry" mode for styling or touching up dry hair.
A natural smooth finish with volume and movement: designed for all hair types, the Dyson Airstrait™ dryer and straightener allows you to dry, smooth or straighten both wet and dry hair. Adjust the temperature and airflow speed according to the type and density of your hair, as well as the desired result: naturally smooth or soft. Use air instead of extreme heat, adding body and volume to give your hair movement and flexibility.
No heat damage: When hair is wet, the hydrogen bonds in the hair fibre are temporarily broken, making it much more pliable. Straightening from wet hair with Dyson Airstrait™ requires less heat. The "Wet" mode offers three lower temperature settings (80 °C, 110 °C and 140 °C). In addition, the Dyson Airstrait™ incorporates ball thermistors distributed on each side of the appliance for intelligent temperature control.
New straightening technology, using air: Dyson Airstrait™ allows you to smooth using precise directional airflow, without hot plates or extreme heat. This flow is generated by the Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor, capable of up to 106,000 revolutions per minute, providing the voltage and power needed to straighten hair as it dries. The styling performance of the Dyson Airstrait™ is also based on the path of the airflow inside the appliance and the arrangement of its blades, which project precise jets of air at 45 degree angles to better penetrate the hair cuticle.
A smart, ergonomic design: each component of the Dyson Airstrait™ has been designed and optimised to ensure user comfort and convenience. Compact and powerful, the Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor measures just 27mm and offers a lightweight, easy-to-handle design. The turbine blades have been redesigned to minimise oscillations, thus eliminating motor squeal. The blades along the plates have also been developed along the X, y and Z axes to ensure optimal distribution of the hot air for accurate and powerful drying.

- Can I use the Dyson Airstrait™ straightener on dry hair?
Yes, you can use the Dyson Airstrait™ to touch up or refresh your dry styling. To use on dry hair, select dry mode and choose one of the preset temperatures, depending on your hair type and desired style.
- Will my iron turn itself off if I accidentally leave it on?
Your Dyson Airstrait™ will automatically go into standby mode after five minutes of inactivity with the arms open or after three minutes if the arms are closed. The LCD screen will turn off and you will have to press the power button to turn it back on.
- Can I use my Dyson Airstrait™ dryer and straightener when travelling to countries with different electrical voltages?
Your straightener has been specifically designed for styling with the voltage of the country in which it was purchased. This allows it to deliver optimum performance. As the voltage varies from country to country, we ask you to follow the instructions for use in the warranty section of your user manual.
- How often should I clean the filter?
To maintain optimum performance, the Dyson Airstrait™ dryer and straightener requires regular care and maintenance. We recommend cleaning the filter once a month. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean debris from the filter's outer cover and inner grille.
