Tour of Galicia

A trip to savour its wines and typical products, while you enjoy the unique landscapes, villages, monasteries, fortresses, vineyards located between canyons and an endless number of charming places. A journey to savour the traditional dishes of La Terriña, prepared with exceptional ingredients and their unique, home-style cooking.

7-day / 6-night trip including: Transfers by coach, 2 and 3* hotels, visits, special lunches, tastings and inclusive insurance.

Travel itinerary:

• Day 1: ORIGIN – Galicia
  Departure from the established points in the direction of Galicia. Short stops along the way (please note that lunch costs are borne by the customer). Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.


• Day 2: VIGO – CAMBADOS – SALNÉS DISTRICT
  Breakfast and departure to visit Vigo, the most important city in the south of Galicia, with an official guide. Our trip includes a stop at the Mirador del Castro viewpoint, affording an unobstructed panorama of the city, encompassing the old quarter, the expanding modern districts and the city's vital port. Return to the hotel for lunch. Our afternoon itinerary includes a scenic coach tour of Illa de Arousa, followed by a trip to Cambados, a distinguished town renowned for its architectural heritage and status as the capital of Albariño wine, where we will visit a D.O. Rías Baixas winery (admission and tasting included). Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.


• Day 3: NORTH PORTUGAL – SANTA TECLA – BAIONA
  Hotel stay with half-board (breakfast and dinner) followed by a full-day excursion to Northern Portugal (Santa Tecla – Baiona), complete with restaurant lunch and admission to Monte Santa Tecla. We will start in the extraordinary fortress town of Valença do Minho and then enjoy some free time. Our journey will then proceed to La Guardia, where we will ascend to the Mirador del Monte de Santa Tecla viewpoint for the stunning vistas and view of the restored ancient fort. We will then head towards Baiona, where we will see the Monterreal Fortress and its beautiful old town.


• Day 4: O GROVE – ISLA DE LA TOJA – PONTEVEDRA – COMBARRO
  Breakfast and departure to visit O Grove, the capital of seafood. Afterwards, we will take a catamaran trip along the Arousa estuary to see its mussel beds while enjoying mussels and young wine on board. We will then cross the early 20th century bridge that links the O Grove peninsula with the island of La Toja. Return to the hotel for lunch. An official guide will lead an afternoon tour of Pontevedra, a city known for its astonishingly rich historic centre. We will visit the Alameda, the Church of the Pilgrim Virgin, the ruins of the Convent of Santo Domingo, the Basilica of Santa María la Mayor, the Plaza de la Herrería with the Church of San Francisco, the squares of Teucro, Méndez Núñez, Verdura and Plaza Leña, among others. We will then go to the town of Combarro, declared a Historic-Artistic Site for its typical and picturesque architecture. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.


• Day 5: A CORUÑA
  Hotel accommodation on half board basis (breakfast and dinner) and full day excursion to A Coruña with lunch in a restaurant and official guide. We will visit the Old Town with an official guide and we will take a panoramic bus tour of its beautiful urban beaches, its magnificent promenade and La Marina. Finally, we will visit the Tower of Hercules (entrance fee not included).


• Day 6: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
  Following breakfast, we'll set out on a guided tour of Santiago de Compostela, a World Heritage Site recognised as the Universal City, with its prominent Cathedral and Obradoiro façade. We will take a walking tour of the old town to visit the Plaza del Obradoiro, Plaza de Fonseca, Plaza de Platerías, Plaza de la Quintana and Puerta Santa and Plaza de Azabachería, among others. Free time for lunch (at the client's expense). Throughout the day we will enjoy a tasting of typical Galician products (included). Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.


• Day 7: GALICIA – POINT OF DEPARTURE
  Breakfast and departure to the point of origin.

Planned hotels:

Hotel Santome **, Hotel Pedramar ***, Corona de Galicia ***, Os Pazos**, Cruceiro Hotel **, A Mariña**, Nuevo Astur*** or equivalent, subject to availability.
