Thailand Tour

Thailand, a country where the hospitality of its inhabitants is its banner and its natural landscapes its protagonists. When you visit Thailand, you become imbued with its magic, the friendliness of the locals, the exquisite sweet and sour taste of its dishes, its colourful flowers and the emerald green of its waters. Many tourists have visited the country and stayed, some of them for good. A country that attracts and enchants deserves a good trip.

17 days/15 nights trip for 2 adults including: flights, airfares, 3 and 4-star hotels (board according to the travel itinerary), transfers and all inclusive insurance.

Itinerary:

  • Day 1: MADRID - BANGKOK
Check-in at the airport. Check-in and boarding formalities for a direct scheduled flight with Iberojet to Bangkok. Overnight on board.

  • Day 2: ARRIVAL IN BANGKOK
Arrival in Bangkok and assisted transfer from the international airport to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Accommodation.

  • Day 3 to 5: FREE DAY IN BANGKOK
Free day to explore the city. Make the most of your stay in this amazing city by visiting its impressive temples, sampling its cuisine and browsing its markets. Our guides at the destination will offer you the optional excursions available. Accommodation.

  • Day 6: BANGKOK - RIVER KWAI
Breakfast. A 150 km drive to Kanchanaburi province awaits us, during which you will be treated to spectacular rural scenery: Extensive agricultural areas of sugar cane, rice fields and pineapple plantations. On arrival, stroll down to Tha Kilen station, passing through a multitude of typical restaurants and cafes that will undoubtedly convey the warmth of the place. You will have the opportunity to ride the "Death Railway" from where you will enjoy, perhaps for the first time, the views of the wonderful River Kwai and the beauty that surrounds it.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy an interesting visit to the Hellfire Pass Memorial, dedicated to the Allied prisoners of war who built this railway from Burma to Thailand through forced labour during the Second World War. Take a stroll along the riverbank and to the hotel to check in. Lunch at a local restaurant. Hotel accommodation.

  • Day 7: KWAI RIVER - BANG PA IN - AYUTTHAYA
Breakfast at the hotel. Start your visit to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai and continue to the Jeath War Museum. Afterwards, our tour takes us to the ancient capital Ayutthaya, where you can admire the impressive ruins of not only fortresses but also amazing temples and feel part of them.
In the afternoon, visit the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, which was first and foremost a summer retreat for the Royal Court during the 17th century. It is worth noting that most of the buildings that exist today are from the period of King Rama V's reign and their structures represent a variety of architectural styles that will leave anyone who sees them in awe. And we must certainly emphasise its location: A beautiful and large park surrounded by lakes and waterways. Lunch at a local restaurant. Hotel accommodation.

  • Day 8: AYUTTHAYA - LOPBURI - PHITSANULOKE
Breakfast. Departure from the hotel and drive to Ayutthaya Archaeological Park. It was the capital of the kingdom of the same name from about 1371 to 1700, before becoming the Kingdom of Siam and covering much of present-day Thailand and neighbouring Cambodia. Visit the most representative temples: Wat Chaiwathanaram and Wat PhraSri Sanphet. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, depart for Lopburi, one of the oldest existing cities in Thailand, to reach the amusing Monkey Temple (Prang Sam Yod - The Sacred Pagoda), which is of Khmer origin and dates back to the 13th century. The distinctive feature, as the name suggests, is the multitude of monkeys that have taken over the place. Continue the journey to Phitsanuloke, the provincial capital and an ideal destination for lovers of natural beauty. Hotel accommodation.

  • Day 9: PHITSANULOKE - SUKHOTHAI - CHIANG RAI
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Phitsanuloke's most sacred temple. You will have time to visit the ruins of Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha That, a Royal temple. XIV. Known to locals as "Wat Yai", it was founded by King Lithai of Sukhothai and contains a famous golden Buddha image.
The trip continues with a visit to Sukhotai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered to be the first Thai kingdom seventeenth century), pre-Ayutthaya. Take a leisurely bike ride through the flat Sukhothai Gardens, past ruins and lakes and see one of the most important icons of the area, the great White Buddha of Wat Sri Chum (Temple of the Sacred Tree), the hand of which, covered in gold leaf and resting on his knee, is revered with great fervour by the locals. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, drive to Chiang Rai, stopping at the picturesque Phayao Lake in the Ing River valley. Accommodation at the hotel.

  • Day 10: CHIANG RAI - GOLDEN TRIANGLE - CHIANG MAI
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, first stop to visit Wat Rong Khun also known as the "White Temple", the work of local artist and designer Chalermchai Kositpipat, who started the project in 1997. You will also visit Wat Rong Suean Ten, known as the "Blue Temple" or "Temple of the Dancing Tiger": This new Buddhist sanctuary is characterised by the play of colours between the blue and yellow that decorates the whole building and the white colour that decorates the main Buddha figures inside. In the mid-morning, you will visit the famous Golden Triangle, the meeting point of Laos, Burma and Thailand. From the top of a hill you can enjoy magnificent views of the Mekong River and the Ruak River. Afterwards, visit to the Opium House. Lunch at a local restaurant. Departure from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai by road (approximately 3 hours), and in the afternoon, visit the city's most famous temple, Wat Doi Suthep, located atop a small hill 15 km to the northwest. Accommodation at the hotel.

  • Day 11: CHIANG MAI - ELEPHANT SANCTUARY
Breakfast at the hotel. The unjust exploitation of elephants has for years contributed to animal abuse. This is why "elephant sanctuaries" have been created, where these animals enjoy an excellent quality of life and the necessary care. Peaceful havens which, in turn, perpetuate the species. Set off early, by road and through a scenic landscape, towards an eco-sustainable project for the conservation of these animals. We will get to know their particular stories and have the opportunity to feed them, under the supervision of the staff. Lunch at a local restaurant.

We complete the visit at an orchid plantation, a crop that is very much a part of Thai culture, which contains a butterfly farm with unusual species. We visit the handicraft production centres of Sankampaeng and Borsang to enjoy wood art, handmade parasols, woven silks, silversmiths and jewellers, ceramics, lacquerware and a myriad of handicrafts. Accommodation at the hotel.
